ERIE, Pa. — The Salem University men’s water polo team defeated host Penn State Behrend by a 17-7 score for its first win over a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) team in school history.
In the first quarter, Salem led Penn State Behrend 2-1. The Tigers extended their lead to 8-3 heading into the half. Salem outscored Penn State Behrend 9-4 in the second half for the 17-7 victory.
The Tigers were led by junior Milos Popovic and sophomore Michael Rojas who each scored four goals, while junior Salvador Orozco, sophomore Petar Leontijevic, and senior Inigo Velasco all added two goals.
Freshman Austin Kephart, sophomore Uros Jevtic and junior Robert Juhas notched solo markers.
