Freitas Clemente Contributes Hat Trick in Connecticut College Win




SALEM, W.Va. — At Salem University, Connecticut College set a season high for goals scored to defeat the Fighting Scots and record their first win of the season. The Camels scored the opening three goals of the game and led from wire-to-wire. After Monmouth slashed the deficit down to a single goal at 7-6, Connecticut College responded by getting a goal from freshman John Krill(Stamford, Conn.) and embarking on a 5-3 run. The Camels led 11-8 after three quarters of play and outscored their opponent by a 4-3 margin in the final eight minutes to come away with the win.
Junior Sean King (La Canada, Calif.) notched a hat trick in the opener against Washington & Jefferson and classmate Tim Beloborodov (Moscow, Russia) added four tallies in the victory over Monmouth. Juniors Rahul Gill (Bethesda, Md.) and Arturo Freitas (Cypress Bay High, Weston, Fla.) as well as Krill all contributed hat trick against the Fighting Scots, while sophomore Tanner Michaelis (Ramona, Calif.) and freshman Danny Meisel (Santa Cruz, Calif.) combined for 14 saves between the posts.
