CWPA RELEASES 2018 MEN’S COLLEGIATE CLUB TOP 20 & DIVISION III TOP 10 WEEK 4/OCTOBER 4 POLLS




The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the Week 4/October 4 Men’s Collegiate Club Top 20 and Division III Top 10 Polls for the 2018 season.
The polls are not representative of each program’s strength but serve as a basis for comparison during the 2018 season.

2018 MEN’S COLLEGIATE CLUB NATIONAL TOP 20 (WEEK 4/OCTOBER 4)

The University of California takes over as the No. 1 team in the country as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2018 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 Week 4/October 4 rankings.
The Golden Bears (95 points) edge out defending National Champion/previously No. 1 San Diego State University (94 points) for top-billing by a point.  California Polytechnic State University (91 points) and Lindenwood University (84 points) drop back to No. 3 and 4, respectively, while the University of Southern California (81 points), Michigan State University (66 points) and The Ohio State University (65 points) all rise to take over at No. 5-7.
The University of Texas (64 points) slides to No. 8 with the University of California-Los Angeles (62 points) and the University of Florida (60 points) rounding out the Top 10.
Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech, 45 points) rises to No. 11 with the University of California-Davis (37 points), the University of California-San Diego (34 points), the Colorado School of Mines (28 points) and Pennsylvania State University (25 points) taking over at No. 12-to-15, respectively.
Boston College (23 points) rates at No. 16, the University of Notre Dame (18 points) and Stanford University (18 points) are tied at No. 17, the University of Utah (14 points) stands at No. 19 and the duo of the University of Alabama (11 points) and Villanova University (11 points) are knotted at No. 20 to complete the rankings.
The 2018 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship will be decided at the University of Arizona on Friday-Sunday, November 9-11, in Tucson, Arizona.

2018 MEN’S DIVISION III COLLEGIATE CLUB NATIONAL TOP 10 (WEEK 4/OCTOBER 4)

Defending Division III Collegiate Club National Champion Washington University in St. Louis continues as the top-ranked team in the Week 4/October 4 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 20 Poll.
The 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 Division III Collegiate Club Champion, Washington in St. Louis (96 points) leads a Top 10 which experienced major changes from No. 5-to-10.
The University of California-Santa Cruz (93 points) remains at No. 2 with Macalester College (90 points) and Bates College (90 points) moving into a tie at No. 3.
The United States Coast Guard Academy (76 points) and previously unranked the United States Merchant Marine Academy (70 points) rate at No. 5 and 6, with Tufts University (69 points) and Carnegie Mellon University (69 points) falling and rising to tie at No. 7.
Grinnell College (47 points) and Augustana College (41 points) wrap-up the Top 10 at No. 9 and 10.
The 2018 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club Championship will be decided on Saturday-Sunday, October 27-28, at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn.
