Eger, Szolnok and OSC get big wins

Eger, Szolnok and OSC Budapest all kept their perfect record after the Round two of the Hungarian national water polo championship, while the defending champion recorded its first victory in the competition.
In the Eger swimming pool, the home team had an easy job against KSI and won 12:4. Strahinja Rasovic opened the score sheet for Eger and by the end of the first quarter, they had a 3:1 advantage.
At the beginning of the second-period Serbian duo Rasovic – Avramovic scored two consecutive goals to continue the momentum for Eger water polo club. And nothing could have stopped Eger in the second half, while Rasovic and Murisic once again confirmed the big victory for the home team.
Ferencvaros, the defending champion, today played the first game in the competition and won 15:9 against the visiting PVSK.
It was not an easy game as most fans have probably expected because PVSK played some great water polo, especially in the first half. They opened the game with a 2:0 lead, so the champions had to wake up in by the end of the first period to take a 4:3 advantage.
Mitrovic, Jaksic, and Nikic played a vital role for Ferencvaros in that period of the game. In the last couple of minutes in the second quarter, the home team managed to score four goals in a row and got to an important 9:6 lead.
Aaron Younger and Marton Vamos found the net in the third quarter and by the end of this period, Ferencvaros gained a five-goal advantage (13:8) to break the game.
Another team from Budapest, Honved, also has a perfect record after the first two rounds. Tonight at their swimming pool they beat Szentes 10:5 in a game in which the visiting team took a 2:0 lead.
But, after that, it was all about Honved and Balazs Sziranyi who finished the game as the best scorer with four goals.
Former European champion Szolnok didn’t have any problems with Vasas as they won 16:6. Daniel Angyal was the best scorer with four goals, while Gergo Zalanki finished the game with the hattrick.
The biggest win of the round goes to OSC Budapest after they trashed the visiting Kaposvari 21:3. Erik Bundschuh found the net four times, while Sava Randjelovic and Krisztian Manhercz both scored hattricks.
