TEMPE, Ariz. – After wrapping their seventh consecutive season in which they've reached 16+ victories in 2018, the Sun Devil Water Polo team announces a 2019 schedule in which they host three multi-team home tournaments and three other dual matches.

The Sun Devils open the season with a home tournament Jan. 12-13 during which they're set to host the Chinese National Team, the New South Wales Institute of Sport (AUS), the New York Athletic Club, and Marist. ASU's other multi-team home tournaments include Feb. 1-3 in which they host Princeton, UC Santa Barbara, Azusa Pacific, Iona, Cal State Monterey Bay, and Cal Baptist and a one-day tournament on Mar. 31 vs. SDSU, SJSU, and Siena.

ASU will also travel to Hawai'i for a match Jan. 26 and to the UCSD Triton Tournament in San Diego Feb. 9-10 and the Barbara Kalbus Invitational in Irvine Feb. 22-24.

March brings the start of conference season for the Sun Devils, competing as part of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), as they host Stanford (Mar. 9), Indiana (Mar. 15), and UCLA (Mar. 16), also hosting a neutral site match between UCLA and Indiana on Mar. 16. ASU will travel to USC (Apr. 13) and Cal (Apr. 20) to close the regular season.

Both the MPSF Championships (Apr. 26-28) and NCAA Championships (May 10-12) take place at Stanford in 2019 as the MPSF Championships feature several fellow Pac-12 schools in Stanford, Cal, UCLA, and USC as well as San Jose State and Indiana.

The Sun Devils spent most of 2018 at No. 6 in the CWPA rankings, never falling outside the top six, and finished the season at No. 5, tying the second-highest finish in the poll in program history.

In the offseason, several new and returning Sun Devils also found success in international competition including Bente Roggewinning gold with Team Netherlands at the European Water Polo Championships and Blaire McDowell being named MVP of the UANA Junior Pan American Championships after helping lead the Canadian Junior Team to the gold.

Sun Devil Water Polo alum Petra Pardi also rejoined her former team as the new assistant coach for 2019.
