Pro Recco’s management has been very active in the past few days and realized new transfers. New coach Ratko Rudic is composing new, younger squad.
Recco’s first reinforcement was Marko Bijac, a goalkeeper of the national team of Croatia and former Jug’s captain.
After him, two players came to Recco from Croatian league. An attacker of the Italian national squad Vincenzo Renzuto (25 years) returned to the homeland. He, who played in Jug last season. He signed a contract with Recco. Before leaving to Croatia, Renzuto had played for Posillipo.
Yesterday, the champion of Italy announced that Luka Bukic (24 years), the best scorer of the 2017/18 Regional League (43 goals in 20 matches), moved to Recco. Bukic played for Mladost Zagreb from the start of his career till now.
I’m honored to play for Recco. I can’t wait to test myself and play with some of the best water polo players in the world. Having Rudic on the bench, the most successful coach in the history of our sport gives me the double confidence that I will improve my skill – Bukic said.
Luka Bukic won silver at the 2016 Olympic Games. His father Perica was a famous player, two-times Olympic Champion, as a player of Yugoslavia (1984 and 1988).Perica Bukic is a vice-president of the Croatian Water Polo Federation.
A few days ago, it seemed that talented Alessandro Velotto (Canottieri), who played for Italy at the Mediterranean Games, would sign for Brescia. But, a new turn happened. Velotto is now very close to Recco.
The series of news about Recco’s actions on transfer market still hasn’t ended. According to the latest rumors, the champion of Italy found a new center-forward, after failed agreement with Konstantinos Mourikis. Australian Joseph Kayes, who has played in Hungary for years (Szeged 2009 – 13 and OSC from 2014 till now), might join Recco. Some media writes that Recco is interested to bring Niksa Dobud, who was suspended until the end of 2019, because of avoiding a doping test.
Three players left Recco: goalkeeper Goran Volarevic (retired), Eduardo Caloigna (Camogli) and Lorenzo Bruni, who still hasn’t signed a new contract with some other club.
Brescia’s list of new players is still empty. The runner-up in the 2017/18 Italian Champion hasn’t realized any of planned transfers. On the other side, nobody has left Brescia.
